ISKP Intelligence and Military Chief Killed in Kabul

In a high-profile attack that was carried out against the backdrop of recent meetings between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban to address renewed threats posed by banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the intelligence and military chief of ISKP, Qari Fateh, has been killed in an operation in Kabul.

He was a key figure in ISKP operations, which have been characterized by targeting diplomatic missions in Kabul and attacks on local civilians, including a bloody attack on a maternity ward in May 2020 that killed 24 people. ISKP has also claimed responsibility for the attack on a university in November 2021 that killed 22 people.
