Govt Cancels Winter Vacations in School 2022-2023

The government has decided to cancel school winter vacations for classes IX to XII for 2022-2023. As per the decision, remedial classes will be conducted for these classes. The reason for this move is to ensure better education for the students. This move has drawn positive responses from the teachers and parents.

Delhi's education minister

The Department of Education has announced winter vacations in schools for classes 9 to 12. However, these holidays will not be extended to Classes X and XII students. This results from a meeting between the federal and provincial education ministries.

Several state governments have also decided to close their schools, including Goa, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. But there are still some schools, such as in Jharkhand, that will reopen in February 2022.

Similarly, the Delhi government will not resume offline sessions in classes 8 and 9. However, online courses will continue to be conducted beginning on February 1, 2022.

Many students are curious about when they will be able to attend school again. In particular, they are interested in knowing when they will be able to participate in school in 2022.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

KP government is going all out in making education a top priority, including putting a stop to winter vacations in the winter zone. To be clear, the winter zone is the coldest place on Earth, and the idea is to get the cold out of the system as soon as possible. A little research and planning will go a long way.

The government also announced that all colleges and universities would be closed on Christmas Day (December 24) and New Year's Eve (December 31) for the season. They are looking to get students back in the classrooms as early as January, which is brilliant. In addition, the government has also put in place a new relief package that will allow teachers to regain their composure.

KPK

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a notification regarding the termination of winter vacations in schools, colleges, and universities of KPK, to protect the students from the extreme cold. These holiday breaks are a chance for students to relax and get prepared for the spring semester exams.

The KPK government will likely announce the winter vacation schedule in December 2022. However, there has been some uncertainty over the dates of the holidays, and this uncertainty has spread unrest among students and teachers.

During the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), a proposal was made to shift the start date of vacations to January 2022. The proposal was also sent to the provincial education ministers, who endorsed the NCOC's proposal. Moreover, a proposal was also made to the inter-provincial education minister.

Remedial classes will be held for categories IX to XII.

There are some reasons why students may enroll in remedial classes. They can help fill in gaps left in college-level work, such as science and math. It can also increase the likelihood that students will earn a degree.

In addition to helping students get the basics down, remedial classes are often designed to serve a specific population. This includes Black and Latino students, who tend to enroll at disproportionately high rates. However, the majority of these students do not qualify for the classes.

Remedial education is a big problem across the country. Research shows that up to 60 percent of first-year college students must take remedial courses. The cost of these classes is $1.3 billion per year. These classes are often optional by four-year universities, and students cannot transfer these credits into their degree program.

Ghaziabad district magistrate

The Ghaziabad district magistrate has ordered the closure of all schools in the district during winter months, and he has also issued a new school timing. As a result, primary and upper primary schools will run from 9 am to 3 pm. During the day, schools will operate under the auspices of a school authority, which will be responsible for regular sanitization drives.

In addition to the winter break, the state government has extended the night curfew by two hours. While announcing the news, the government urged schools to start online classes on April 20. However, school management will have to ensure there are no overcrowding issues.

The Ghaziabad District Magistrate has also sent copies of his order to the Division Information Officers and Sub Divisional Magistrates. The official notification applies to all schools in the state. The move is hoped to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases in the region.
